Sunday Scramble a la Justine

It's all about experimentation here at MSWG. It's about trying new things and exploring uncharted waters, racing toward new horizons and exploring the unexplored.

Alright, fine. It's not. It's mainly about my shoes and how cute my kids are. BUT. In effort to become even more amazing I am branching out. I'm going to Scramble. On Sunday.

Visit Justine at Stupid is as Sister Does if you want to learn more or join in the fun. The application process is relatively simple, and she usually gets back to you with an approval notice within seven to ten blogging days IF you fill out the 32 page application form correctly.

So, time to scramble it up, then.

I am amazed at the friendships I have somehow been able to cultivate despite my tendencies to be, well, kind of a bitch. I take forever to return phone calls, I really hate talking on the phone even when I do answer it, which is rare. I'm strong willed and opinionated; I'm not the easiest person in the world to get along with. I'm difficult to get to know and I have a hard time letting people in. In spite of this, I have made some incredible friends both in real life and through, of all things, blogging. I could devote an entire post to the wonderful women I've been privileged to get to know by virtue of blogging and I probably will at some point. These women have lifted me up when I've been down, rejoiced with me when I've reached some of the highest peaks life can provide, and cried with me when I've been deep in valleys I wouldn't wish on anyone. I am so thankful for these women and the impact they've had on my life. Today, though, I wanted to highlight a different lady. This is a woman I've known for years. We've been involved in charity work together, our kids have played together, we've spent many a night solving the world's problems over Diet Coke and a Bloomin' Onion at The Outback. Though we now live in different states, we have not lost touch. Just today I got a little package from her which reminded me that though there are those who thrive on bringing people down, people like Amity live to raise others up. In a package labeled simply From Jess, I uncovered all this fabulous stuff. *Please click here to learn about the origin of "Jess".*

Two gorgeous headbands for Miss E.B.

You'll have to take my word for it that they're simply adorable on her - no pictures of the babies until the crazies stop foaming at the mouth.

Cocktail napkins that say, "Stimulating the economy one shoe sale at a time".

You can use your imagination vis a vis the candies. I may have eaten them while I was photographing the other stuff. Ahem. I am so lucky to have such great women in my life.

I have Food Network on in the background as I type this and it's making me salivate for a little Mesa, which is one of Bobby Flay's restaurants. I eat there every time I go to Vegas. Nom. It's making me salivate for a little Bobby Flay maybe too. Also nom.

We just had the carpeting cleaned in the new house and there's this one little stain in the living room by the fireplace that didn't come out and it's ALL I CAN SEE now and it's driving me over the edge. I hate stains. If you didn't know.

James has been at the new job for a week now, and I am very pleased to say that he loves it. Which is so nice, because after being out of work almost a year, we had reached the point where he needed to accept the first decent offer he got. He was fortunate enough to get a great offer from a place he really wanted to work and I am so, so glad. There is a lightness about him now, his brow is no longer furrowed, and he's smiling again. He's no longer worried about plowing through our savings. We've got our lives back. It's beautiful.

It's cold here, even in Southern California. So cold, in fact, I'm starting to see democrats with their hands in their OWN pockets!

Well, that was fun. Be sure to visit Justine for more Sunday Scramble. It's a wild ride.

{{{{{{{Steph}}}}}} My very first linker! I'm so glad it was you!

OMG, Amity with her Jess package. How awesome is that? Could those cocktail napkins be any more perfect for you? Now you can set your little (okay, big) glass of wine on them while watching that fisherman guy that I find to be gross.

Hope you guys warm up there! We're going up to 73 today. Blechhhh

Justine :o )

So sad we dont get to see Ella B in her adorable headbands! I completely understand though! I'd be hiding my kiddo too! That's the mamma lion protecting her cubs.

I think it's colder in your part of CA... here it was beautiful this weekend. My husband loaded up the kiddo and walked the beach shore on Sunday. Talk about gorgeous!

YAY for a happy job! Congrats to a well deserved family!
